SCA / Sensory Intermediate
The Sensory Skills Intermediate course by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) is a training program that falls between the basic and advanced levels in the field of coffee sensory evaluation. The course builds upon the skills acquired in the basic Sensory Skills course and provides further knowledge and tools to assess and appreciate coffee in greater depth.
During the Sensory Skills Intermediate course, more complex topics related to sensory evaluation are explored, such as differentiation between different coffee varieties, evaluating specific characteristics of coffee based on its geographical origin and processing methods, and utilizing more advanced evaluation methodologies.
Students will have the opportunity to enhance their tasting skills and deepen their understanding of coffee's sensory attributes. Upon completion of the course, participants can obtain the SCA's Sensory Skills Intermediate certification, which acknowledges their proficiency in coffee sensory evaluation at an intermediate level. This certification can be a valuable asset for those seeking to advance their career in the specialty coffee industry.
