More Info
The company also owns processing stations in both regions, where the initial phase of coffee processing takes place. In these facilities, the cherries are washed and the pulp is removed, after which they are loaded onto trucks and transported to the drying and finishing plant in Tarentum, located in the parish of Clarendon.
At Tarentum, the beans are dried, calibrated, hand-selected, and placed in the traditional wooden barrels. Wallenford® takes pride in its agricultural and production practices, guided by the principles of doing well and doing good. They work closely with farmers, providing support to their farms and surrounding communities. They provide infrastructure and knowledge to help them cultivate a profitable harvest that can sustain their families.
The result has been a consistent improvement in the quality and taste of the coffee they produce and a strong bond between Wallenford® and the coffee communities of Jamaica.
