Colombia Geisha Balcon de la Montana

The Duque Vásquez family has been cultivating high-altitude exotic coffees (1,830–2,030 m) since 2019 in the department of Caldas, Colombia. The project was born from Mauricio Duque’s over 20 years of experience in the specialty coffee trade, through the family-owned company Dulce Misterio SAS BIC, which is also committed to social and environmental development within the local community of Pan de Azúcar.

Balcón de la Montaña (6.7 ha) is one of two estates dedicated to the production of exceptional microlots. Here, varieties such as Geisha, Bourbon Rosado, Bourbon Ají, Caturra Chiroso, Caturra Amarillo, and Variedad Colombia are cultivated, using washed, honey, and natural processes, including anaerobic fermentation and carbonic maceration to enhance the complexity and character of each coffee.

Cupper's notes

Cupper's notes

Delicately floral and sweet, with intense notes of jasmine, acacia honey, and lime. Elegant and bright, featuring a citrus and malic acidity balanced by the sweetness of yellow stone fruits (peach, apricot) and subtle hints of white tea and bergamot. The body is silky and light, yet harmoniously structured. The aftertaste is clean and persistent, with lingering sensations of honey and orange blossom. A complex and transparent cup, offering a perfect balance between aromatic finesse and terroir definition.
